Vegas Never Gets Old

Before Carter was born I'd only been to Las Vegas 3 times. Since he's been born we've gone every year. I've had people tell me that they don't think it's kid friendly, but I'd disagree. If you are walking the strip at 2am then yes, you are probably going to see/hear/smell some unpleasant things. However, during the day we find a lot to do and in the evening we enjoyed bowling and swimming at our hotel. For us it's a close and affordable little getaway and  we always have a great time!

It was our first time seeing the M&M store - - all 4 stories of it!

We went on the High Roller Ferris Wheel (the tallest in the world!!)

(Btw, Carter isn't hurt. He just decided that he wanted to start wearing band aids for a little flare I suppose.)

Carter was so unbelievably cute bowling. He lifted, carried and rolled the 8 lb ball all by himself. His enthusiasm must have stood out because he soon had the 3 lanes next to us cheering him on...and he loved every second of it!

Another awesome trip!

June Wrap Up/ July Warm Up

I feel like I've been a little MIA lately, so this would be the perfect time for a June wrap up/July warm up. A couple weeks ago we went to the beach for the first time this summer. As always, it was beautiful and relaxing.

Carter went to a birthday party for the son of Russ' work friend. He was one of the youngest there, but that didn't stop him!

I started July off with a new haircut! As Coco Chanel says, "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life." That feels incredibly true right now because...

...I'm in my two week wait (meaning the two weeks before I can take a pregnancy test). Shockingly, at my CD 11 ultrasound I had two mature follicles! I couldn't believe it! I actually responded to the Letrozole! That night for the first time I took Ovidrel (trigger shot) which forces ovulation within approximately 36 hours. The days are going by slowly, but thankfully I have Carter to keep me distracted.

Plus, when she's not working at Old Navy, Madison has been hanging out with us, helping to keep my mind busy. Yesterday we went to a beach in Corona del Mar called "Little Corona." It has tide pools and small/medium size waves. This was our first time going here and the three of us thought it was pretty cool.

And here we already are with July 4th tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I feel like we were just in San Diego celebrating last year! I hope that everyone has a happy and safe Independence Day!

June Activities

I've fallen behind on my 'Weekly Roundup' posts (as slacking on posts seems to happen for me during the busy summer months), so I'm loading this post full of photos from some day trips and activities we've done lately.

Ever since we went to the Palm Springs Air Museum Carter's taken a big interest in planes. Before the really bad summer heat seats in we decided to check out the Planes of Fame air museum in Chino.

Carter also still has his love of fish and other sea creatures and the Birch Aquarium at Scripps was an exciting day for him.

The water table is a hit with all ages :)

The Birch Aquarium is a great alternative to Sea World. They have no captive cetaceans, the animals aren't forced to perform and it really is educational. I highly recommend going here or to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.

And what June is complete without at least one graduation party? This weekend we celebrated Russ' cousins High School graduation at a beautiful park in Huntington Beach. Does anything beat cool, coastal weather?!

The grad is on the left. Congrats Nicole!!
