Field Trip
As part of our homeschooling preschool that I've somewhat started (it's mostly just Carter lead activities) we have been taking a weekly "field trip." Usually on Wednesdays I try to find something for us to do that's a little out of our normal day to day stuff. This week we went to the Orange Empire Railway Museum. We hadn't been since the Fall when we went for "A Day Out With Thomas." That day there were hundreds of people, but on this trip we basically had the whole place to ourselves. It was a fun morning!
Dentist
Did you know that February is National Children's Dental Health Month? Up I until a few days ago I didn't, but coincidentally Carter has his first dental visit this week. He was supposed to see the pediatric dentist, but there was a mix up with our insurance so he ended up at our regular dental office. He was trepidatious at first (and I can't blame him), but he did so well! It was an eye opening experience for me because I saw just how grown up he really has become. I see these changes in him everyday, but in a new situation like this I saw just what a big boy he is. I was very proud of him (as was Russ, of course).
Project
You may have noticed in my weekly roundups that Madison has been over the last few weekends. That's because she is working on her collection for her school's fashion show in April. My mother-in-law sews (and is just generally very crafty) so she and Madison have been very busy. I have pictures of the completed pieces, but I've been told to keep them under raps until the big reveal. The only hint I can give: Madison's collection is Egyptian inspired!
Birthday
My grandpa's 79th birthday was this week so last night we met up with extended family to celebrate. I wasn't sure how Carter would do (restaurants aren't really his thing these days), but he was a perfect little gentleman.
Until next week...
