Goodbye 2013...Hello 2014!

2013 has come to an end... There have been challenges and disappointments, but thankfully Russ and Carter helped me get through it with love and laughter. I've gained a better understanding of who I really am and who and what is most important in life. I've spent my days doing the most amazing job, one that I am beyond grateful for: being Carter's mom and life teacher. There is no telling what 2014 holds for us, but I am going into it with an open heart that is ready to embrace the joy life has to offer. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2014!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent at our house with my in-laws. Russ and I made pesto chicken and pasta for dinner and Carter enjoyed opening presents and subsequently playing with his new toys (Daddy enjoyed that part, too!).

Leonard Family Christmas

Last night we celebrated Christmas with Russ' extended family. We all had a nice time and Carter particularly enjoyed himself! Friends and toys! What more could a boy ask for?

He couldn't get enough of his new Thomas track set and "Cars" set. He could barely fall asleep last night and then he was up bright and early at 5am this morning. First words out of his mouth: "Where's my cars?"

Boat Parade Party 2013

Last night was the annual Boat Parade Party that my in-laws host. We skipped going down to the lake for the actual parade since it was so cold (Carter woke up yesterday with what we thought were allergies, but this morning it seems more like a cold), but we had fun playing games and snackin'!

Trying to get their "nose" to stick!

Madison won!

Shaking our jingles bells! (game: a kleenex box is filled with bells and attached to a belt. You have a minute to shake them all out)

Even Carter wanted to give it a try! He took his booty shakin' very seriously!

You can't tell in the pics, but he was doing it :)

Carter and I got rocks in the "dirty gift exchange." He thought it was one of the best gifts ever!

And some jenga with Dee dee

Another fun-filled, festive night!
